File Format Selection
Choose the right format for your print method. TIFF is preferred for high-quality production, PNG for digital workflows, PSD for layered files. Avoid JPEG for final production files due to compression artifacts.
Resolution Requirements
Textile printing typically requires 150-300 DPI at actual print size. Higher resolutions increase file size without improving print quality. Always confirm DPI requirements with your printer.
- Digital printing: 150-200 DPI
- Screen printing: 200-300 DPI
- Rotary printing: 150-200 DPI
- Large format: 100-150 DPI
Color Mode Setup
Work in the correct color mode from the start. RGB for digital inkjet printing, CMYK for traditional processes. For spot color work, use Pantone libraries.

- Spot: Screen printing, exact colors
- LAB: Color conversion accuracy
Seamless Repeat Check
Verify your pattern tiles seamlessly. Test by placing multiple copies in a grid. Check for visible seams, density issues, and any elements that create obvious repeat patterns.
