Why isolate motifs, and what the AI does
Pattern design runs on motif libraries: flowers, leaves and shapes you reuse across compositions. Getting motifs out of existing artwork by hand means careful masking. Motif Isolator finds the separate elements automatically and cuts each one out.
The AI draws a mask around each motif and cuts it from your original pixels, so detail stays as it was. It does not redraw anything: where motifs overlap, the hidden part stays missing, and overlaps are the hardest case. Fine Detail helps with intricate artwork, and Merge near-duplicates keeps repeated copies from crowding the list.
Export the visible motifs as a ZIP of transparent PNGs, or as a PSD with the motifs on layers grouped by colour. Then arrange them into a new tile in Motif Composer.
