What is AI background removal?

AI background removal uses an image-segmentation model to identify the main subject of a photo — person, product, object, logo — and separate it from everything else. The output is a PNG with a transparent alpha channel where the background used to be, ready to drop onto any surface, document, or product mockup without fringing or white halos.

The classic manual approach (pen-tool selection in Photoshop) takes 3–10 minutes per image and requires real skill for hair or fur. AI segmentation does the same job in about 2 seconds, with comparable or better fine-edge quality on portraits and products.
