How Inpaint Studio works
Inpainting changes one part of an image and leaves the rest. Mask the area with the brush, a rectangle or the magic wand, write what should be there, and the AI generates new pixels for the masked area that match the lighting and texture around it.
The prompt is required: it is how the tool knows whether to remove something, replace it or add to it. Presets give a starting point for the common jobs: Remove, Replace BG, Add, Fix, Recolor and No Text.
The result is composited back into your original at its full size. The mask edge is widened and softened slightly so the fill blends in, so pixels just outside your mask can change a little.
