Arranging motifs into a tile
Once you have motifs, the next step is arranging them into a tile that repeats. Motif Composer gives you a square canvas and your own uploaded motifs, up to 20 of them.
Place motifs at the centre one at a time, Scatter them with random angles and sizes, or Grid Fill the canvas four by four. Spacing sliders set the horizontal and vertical gaps, and you can align or delete a selected motif. The preview shows the tile repeated as Block, Brick, Mirror H or Mirror V.
Export the tile as PNG, JPG or TIFF with its DPI written in. Motifs that cross the canvas edge are cut off rather than wrapped to the opposite side, so check the tile in Seamless Checker before printing yardage.
