Print Preflight
Set the print method, design type, print size and bleed, and Print Preflight checks resolution, repeat, bleed and colour mode, plus out-of-gamut colour for screen and rotary printing. Then export a TIFF for the printer.
Catch print problems before the printer does
A file that looks fine on screen can still fail at the printer: too few pixels for the print size, a repeat with a visible seam, no bleed, or colours a CMYK press can't reach. Print Preflight checks for those before you send the file.
Choose the print method (Digital / POD in RGB, or Screen / Rotary in CMYK), whether the design is a repeat or a placement print, the print size and the bleed. Resolution is worked out from the image's pixels and your print size and passes at 300 DPI. Repeat designs get a seamless repeat check, and CMYK printing gets an out-of-gamut check that passes when under 5% of pixels are out of range.
Each check passes or warns, and a warning never stops you exporting. Export an RGB TIFF and PNG with the DPI set and mirrored bleed, or a CMYK TIFF, plus a PNG report card of the results to send with the file.
