Gamut

Half-drop repeat

ICC Profile

Pantone TN
Pantone Textile Nylon standard. For synthetic nylon substrates. Different behavior than TCX on cotton.
PPI (Pixels Per Inch)
Pixel density measurement for digital files. Often used interchangeably with DPI in casual conversation but technically different (PPI = file, DPI = printer).
Prompt

R

Reactive ink

Reinhard color transfer

Repeat

Rotary screen printing

S

Seam energy
Measurement of pixel continuity at tile boundaries in a seamless pattern. Low seam energy = seamless. High = visible seam. Used in automated seamless verification.
Seamless pattern
A pattern whose tile edges match such that the pattern can repeat infinitely without visible seams.
Soft-proofing
Previewing how a design will look when printed, using the target ICC profile applied in design software. Catches gamut and color shift issues before submission.
Spot color
