When to Use

  • Before/after comparisons of AI processing results
  • Quality checking upscaled vs original images
  • Detecting subtle changes between design revisions
  • Client presentations showing processing improvements

Pro Tips

💡

Difference mode highlights even tiny changes. Perfect for catching unwanted artifacts.

💡

The interactive split slider is ideal for showing clients before/after results.

💡

Download in Difference mode to save the difference image for QA records.

💡

Open it straight after another tool: the original and the result load as Image A and Image B on their own.

How do I…

How do I compare a before and after?

Load the two images and choose Side by Side, Overlay, Split or Difference. Opened straight after another tool, the original and the result load as Image A and Image B on their own.

How do I find small changes between two versions?

Use Difference mode. Sensitivity sets what counts as a changed pixel, and you see the share of pixels that differ with a similarity score.

How do I save the comparison?

Click Download to save the current comparison as an image. In Difference mode it saves the difference image.

What to Expect

✅

Best Results

  • Same-dimension images (or similar ratio)
  • Before/after of same design
  • High-quality source files
  • Similar image content for meaningful diff
⚠️

Limited Results

  • Very different image sizes
  • Completely unrelated images
  • Heavy compression artifacts
  • Large images (slower to process)

Real-World Examples

Upscale Quality Check

After using AI Image Upscaler to upscale a pattern 4x, the designer wants to verify detail quality. Original: 1000x1000px source, visible pixelation at 100%. Upscaled (Split mode): 4000x4000px result, drag to compare detail. Settings: Split mode, Vertical, Zoom: 200%.

Revision Comparison

A client asked for subtle color changes. The designer needs to document exactly what changed. Version 1: Original color palette, full saturation blues. Version 2 (Difference): Color changes highlighted, shows exactly what shifted. Settings: Difference mode. Result: 12.3% pixels different (color areas).
